Anne Imhof and Eliza Douglas have frequently collaborated on performance works since 2016. Alongside performance, both artists consider painting to be central to their practices. The exhibition at Galerie Buchholz New York is the first exhibition to present collaborative paintings by Douglas and Imhof.
Eliza Douglas (b. 1984, New York) lives and works in Frankfurt. Previous solo exhibitions include Nassauischer Kunstverein, Wiesbaden, 2017; Folkwang Museum, Essen, 2017; and Air de Paris, 2016.
Anne Imhof (b. 1978, Gießen, Germany) lives and works in Frankfurt. Currently, Imhof is representing Germany in the 2017 Venice Biennale, for which she won the Golden Lion prize. She recently had solo exhibitions at venues and institutions including La Biennal de Montreal, 2017; Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin, 2016; Kunsthalle Basel, 2016; and Galerie Buchholz, Cologne, 2016.
