‘‘Borderland’ is a place on the edge, a place with its own distinct spirit. Sometimes it can be an ancient contested landscape... sometimes an idealised bardic setting where dramas and transformations take place...'

About

'...There are many layered meanings in these works, because ‘borderland’ can be both a physical place, and a state of mind...’

'Eleri’s work is gloriously poetic; it is innovative and elegant, intuitive and investigatory. She opens for us a new kind of consciousness by offering an almost endless tapestry of passages through the threshold of her own passions’ (Prof Judith Burton, Columbia University).

Eleri Mills lives and works in rural Mid Wales, where she was born and brought up. She has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad including the Museums of Modern Art Kyoto and Tokyo and Museu Textil d’Indumentaria, Barcelona. Her work is featured in national collections which include the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester and National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.

Eleri has been chosen to receive the 2023 Glyndwr Award for an Outstanding Contribution to the Arts in Wales. In 2021 she was winner of the Kyffin Williams Drawing Prize and was awarded an Arts Council of Wales Ambassadorship in 2010.
