Artist Statement
This exhibition is the first stage of my new project dedicated to transfiguration of space, using colour and sound as a tool. A process that necessitates applying carefully organised brushstrokes of pure, clean colour. The sound is the resonance of love and harmony between man and nature that reverberates throughout this collection.  This harmonious balance is meant to awaken a deep seated memory of the “Garden of Eden”, and in turn create a Hortus Paradisi within the viewer.
“Hortus Paradisi” is the result of a lifelong study of colour, space and light as vital concepts, and application of an unforced, honed, naturally developed technique. Using the medium of oil paint to depict literal gardens, figurative moments of accord between all forms of life, and living fragments in time captured and made into places of their own, it is my aim to battle entropy and turn a boring homogenous area into a blooming garden.
