Art & Soul Cafe, St.Neots is pleased to present ‘Elements: a Glimpse of the Moment’ by Lez Gray on the 20th January until Feb 23rd. The exhibition is free with a private viewing by arrangement.
Eight pieces of original work are offered, inspired by both the natural world and a desire to capture that elusive moment when light and movement meet in perfection. The artist uses a bold mix of oils, acrylics and mixed media, with subjects as diverse as flamenco dancers to the aurora borealis to breaking waves and Alaskan Waterfalls! Limited edition prints will also be available.
Of particular note is a large canvas entitled “Deep Blue II” which was inspired by a close encounter with a Blue Whale and free diver in the Indian Ocean! The proceeds from this painting, offered as a ‘blind auction’ will go to the marine conservation charity, ‘Sea Shepherd’ at the artist’s request. Early bids on same can be made by contacting email@example.com
“I imagined this exhibition from a long way back, thinking about the themes and motives that would link individual pieces to the whole. ‘Elements’ is that central idea around which I scoped out a visual statement of intent, my intent being not only to explore a palette of styles within the media of oil and acrylics; but also to express the natural elements, earth, air, fire and water from a different perspective. Capturing their essence perhaps, with a glance over my shoulder.“
