The exhibition records an artistic pursuit  of the relationship between light and colour.                                                                                              

'With time, I started to discover that the material character of nature is only a part of its essence and my works began to lose their realistic points of reference.  I was fascinated by the elusive, the undescribed and the unnamed. Consequently, my artistic pursuits started to focus more on connecting with 'the spirit of matter' rather than just its physical form. 
All the techniques I use help me to get a deeper insight into the nature of light, colour and space and combine what is created with what is experienced.' 

 Born in Sandomierz, Poland. Elzbieta Owczarek lives and works  in Warsaw.                                                             She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Technology and Humanities in Radom, where she did her painting degree at the Studio of Professor Apoloniusz Węgłowski and an additional diploma in printmaking at the Studio of Professor Andrzej Markiewicz.  She holds a postgraduate degree at the Education Centre of Warsaw School of Economics and completed a full-time university programme at the University of Economics in Katowice. A member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers ZPAP – Warsaw, Painting and Graphic Arts Section. A member of the Management Board of the Association of Polish Painters and Graphic Artists. A member of creative groups: PositiveArt and VisualDance. 

She has participated in over a hundred group shows and had 20 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad.  Her preferred forms of artistic expressions include painting, graphic arts, drawing and light compositions.

2013  Honorable mention at Dieter Rucker’s for the painting Still Nature with Lemon1,2. Radom

2010  Award at the Other Reality competition for a series of graphic works entitled “From Winter…”  

           and for the animation: “Good morning, Mr Gauguin” - Radom       

2008  Award of the Ministry of National Defence for paintings: “Glass Spots” and “In Favourite 

           Colours” – Żagań
