About
EGOMYSTICAL is a portal where artist joshuagabriel (b. Joshua Gabriel Lunsk) alchemizes self mythology into a sacred space of color, movement, and music. The exhibition is inspired by the idea that each individual’s ego journey is guided and permeated by the mystical and spiritual planes of existence toward the goal of self-knowledge and ego transcendence into the greater consciousness.
Formally speaking, EGOMYSTICAL is a two day, pop-up, immersive installation composed of animated video projections, painted and spinning art objects, one large canvas, video performances and original music.
EGOMYSTICAL is an exploration of the purpose of the ego within the esoteric traditions, a journey through mediums to find the artist’s place in a sacred lineage of truth-seekers, mystics, and heretics.
joshuagabriel lives and and works in the Ditmas Park section of Brooklyn, NY. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he recieved his BFA from the Tyler School of Art and his MFA from Brooklyn College. jg has created large scale murals throughout New York City and has exhibited and performed in the United State..
