About
Explore the life and visionary work of Finnish American modernist architectural giant Eero Saarinen (1910–1961).
Saarinen is best known for designing St. Louis’s Gateway Arch (a National Historic Landmark), the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, and modernist pedestal furniture like the Tulip chair. His work introduced Americans to the expressive delights of the curve, offering an escape from the rectilinear confines of the modernist tradition. Shot in 6K with the latest in drone technology, the film showcases the architect’s body of timeless work and includes some spectacular aerial tours. (2016, 70 min, digital)
