AboutAs chief photographer for Vogue and Vanity Fair, Edward Steichen shaped the look of celebrity and fashion photography in the 1920s and 30s. He immortalised leading writers, artists, actors, dancers and politicians in striking portraits and revolutionised fashion photography in his depictions of haute couture from designers such as Poiret, Chanel, Lelong, Lanvin, Patou and Schiaparelli. This exhibition will feature more than 200 vintage photographs by one of the most influential photographers of the twentieth century. In High Fashion is curated by William A. Ewing, Todd Brandow and Nathalie Herschdorfer. The Exhibition has been organised by the Foundation for the exhibition of Photography, Minneapolis/Paris/Lausanne in collaboration with The Photographers' Gallery.
