The exhibition name ”edit” refers to a method of observing and the active role of the one who observes.

With naked eye one can see around 2000 stars but when you stare at one directly the other stars disappear. You have to let your eyes wander slowly past the focal point to see the whole picture.

By varying the alignment of our gaze the reflection of subjective reality changes. It can add or remove things from our sight.

The theme of the exhibition is processed through the interaction of the human encounter and the surrounding world.

In her artwork, Pia Salo studies the different aspects of the surrounding landscape. It´s a restricted view that expands and evolves constantly. The elusive landscape escapes the eye of the observer and detaches itself from plain sight much like a horizon that one can never reach.

In the paintings of Katja Skinnari, colors and entities search for a place of belonging in the universe. They are portraits of beings confined in their own thoughts, who at the same time flee from sight but still have silent wish to be found.

Der Name der Ausstellung, "edit", verweist auf eine Beobachtungsmethode und die aktive Rolle dessen, der Beobachtet.

Mit bloßem Auge kann man ungefähr 2000 Sterne sehen, aber sobald man einen davon genauer betrachtet, verschwinden alle anderen. Man muss seine Augen langsam
vom Fokus weglenken, um das Gesamtbild zu sehen.

Indem wir unsere Blickrichtung ändern, ändert sich auch das subjektive Empfinden unserer Realität. So kann etwas in unser Sichtfeld gelangen oder daraus verschwinden.

Das Thema der Ausstellung entwickelt sich erst durch den Einfluss menschlicher Annäherung und ihrer Umgebung.

In ihrer Kunst betrachtet Pia Salo die verschiedenen Erscheinungen der sie umgebenden Landschaft. Es ist eine eingeschränkte Sicht, die sich stetig erweitert und entwickelt. Die schwer greifbare Landschaft flieht vor dem Auge des Beobachters und kann nie deutlich erfasst werden, ganz so wie ein Horizont, der nie zu erreichen ist.

In den Gemälden von Katja Skinnari suchen Farben und Gebilde nach ihrer wahren Heimat im Universum. Es sind dies Portraits von Wesen in den Schranken ihrer eigenen Gedanken, welche dem Blick entfliehen, gleichzeitig jedoch den stillen Wunsch haben, gefunden zu werden.
