Edgar & Me is an hour long one woman solo show, inviting you the audience to join Charlotte as she talks about her friendship with Edgar, a death row inmate in America.
About
Charlotte has been writing to Edgar Garcia for four years, via email and letters. Her mother didn’t want her to in case he got out and murdered her, her friends thought it was bizarre but fascinating. Edgar is on death row for murder, though they have never discussed the crime he committed - Charlotte has found it all online. The Edgar in those articles, the Edgar eight years ago isn’t the Edgar she has known and cared for over the past four years. Her Edgar is kind and caring, he’s an artist and a poet, and he’s a good friend. This performance depicts their relationship through his letters to her, the stories they have shared and his past from what she has read online. During this performance she invites her audience into their world. Telling them their story, taking them on their journey. This thought-provoking piece explores the lives of death row inmates in Terre Haute, alongside this friendship
