“Ebbs and Flows”: Hugo Hamper-Potts Unveils a New Exhibition Celebrating London’s Green Spaces alongside Intimate Family Portraits

About

This winter, London-based artist Hugo Hamper-Potts (b.1991) is showing in parallel solo exhibitions in Mayfair, London. The artist’s third solo show at 54 The Gallery, from 12 to 18 January 2026, will showcase large oil paintings that focus on the River Thames, alongside intimate portraits of family life. In parallel, Drake’s, from 15 January to 15 February 2026, will showcase smaller oil representations of trees.

It is the first time the artist has focused his attention on London, using the city as a base to explore states of being and reflect on our own journey through life. Hamper-Potts’ atmospheric paintings display expressive brushwork overlaid with thin washes of paint to display the raw beauty of nature and the candidness of family life.

In his exploration of evolving cityscapes and family life, Hamper-Potts will show 40 paintings at 54 The Gallery to coincide with 15 striking tree paintings displayed at Drake’s nearby.
