This edition features sets from:

Flooded Access and Edin Suljic

Flooded Access is the performing name of sound and visual artist Martin Lau. His sound work involves the creation of improvised noise/soundscapes, largely using electronics and flute. He created and runs Ealing Extranormal. Solo performances often involve live scoring NASA footage, silent movies and other public domain visual material.

Edin Suljic is a published writer, poet and artist based in London. His work has been exhibited at Tate Modern, and he performs internationally. Edin grew up in the multicultural, multinational society of former Yugoslavia, moving to the UK at the onset of the tragic Yugoslavian war in 1991. He likes a good story; telling and making stories about people in all their diversities is the best way of bringing people closer together.

Martin and Edin first performed together at the Whitechapel WriteIdea Festival and continue their conversation between words and sound tonight.

He is also the founder of Thinking/Not Thinking Fest which celebrates genre contrasts and organises the concert series dedicated to improvised music; Don’t Mind Control.

Dushume

Amit D Patel, aka Dushume, is an experimental noise and sound artist, influenced by Asian underground music and DJ culture. His work focuses on performing and improvising with purpose built do-it-yourself instruments. Lack and loss of control are central to his work. He has a PhD in Music from De Montfort University. He is a member of the Sound/Image Research group at the University of Greenwich, London, and Principal Investigator for the AHRC Research Grant “Exploring Cultural Diversity in Experimental Sound”.
