‘Dystopia to Utopia: reimagining our future’ is genre-bending performance reimagining our future together as we rebuild as a community following the pandemic.
About
East Bank Partners, BBC, Sadler’s Wells, UCL (University College London), London College of Fashion, UAL, and the V&A, are delighted to invite you to Dystopia to Utopia: Reimagining our future – a new performance choreographed by Dannielle ‘Rhimes’ Lecointe and East London Dance. These two 10-minute performances bring to a close East Bank’s 2022 Creative Programme and look ahead to the opening of East Bank, London’s new cultural quarter in Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
At sunset, the East Bank building site will come to life with a projected film featuring newly commissioned artworks selected by gal-dem, a live performance from East London Dance, and a soundtrack by Music Producer Tony Nwachukwu, featuring UD Music’s Flames Collective vocal ensemble and work by young musicians in east London.
We hope you will join us to celebrate this moment as we come together as a community. To confirm your attendance, please RSVP to this email by 8 September.
To watch the special performances together, we will gather near the platform below Tessa Jowell Boulevard, opposite East Bank on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (see map below or use or use what3words: script.famous.return).
Both performances are the same and you are welcome to stay for both. We suggest arriving 10-15 mins prior to each performance time. Please note, the viewing area is outside in an uncovered area exposed to the weather.
