About

The first ever full-career retrospective of the legendary British photographer Brian Duffy, coinciding with the publication of Duffy: A Visual Record of the Photographic Genius — the first and only book of his work. Having come to prominence as part of the notorious Black Trinity alongside Terence Donovan and David Bailey, Brian Duffy's photography is synonymous with the visual language that defined swinging sixties' London. Duffy infamously quit photography in 1979 when, at the height of his career, he took the majority of his photographic work and set it on fire. Following years of painstaking rediscovery and searching by his son Chris, Duffy's newly restored body of work firmly cements him as the man who changed British photography. This brand new exhibition will present the full breadth and variety of the photographers prolific creative output and will feature portraits of the likes of David Bowie, Michael Caine and Bridgette Bardot alongside Duffy's highly respected editorial work and commercial commissions.
