12 monumental sculptures by French artist Jean Dubuffet (1901 – 1985) including a parade of tragicomic characters, a tower with stories, and a brilliant white tree, will be on display this summer in the Rijksmuseum Gardens from 1 July.

About

The sculptures, characterised by Dubuffet’s trademark bright white, red and blue patterns, have come from Paris, Lisbon, New York and London.

The exhibition Dubuffet in the Rijksmuseum Gardens was created in close collaboration with the Fondation Dubuffet in Paris and curated by Alfred Pacquement, former director of the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Dubuffet in the Rijksmuseum Gardens is the fifth summer exhibition in a series of free, open-air exhibitions, made possible in part by BankGiro Loterij participants and the Rijksclub.
