Dryden Goodwin's 28-minute film installation Poised explores the physical and emotional dynamics of a group of young female divers. As part of the Yorkshire Festival 2014 the exhibition at the award winning Ferens Art Gallery in Hull, UK City of Culture 2017, presents a fresh context for the video installation. Created in 2012, the film opens up new conversations about the concept of âTrue Grit' and the impact of sport on physical and mental health which will be explored through a linked community engagement programme and display.
Dryden Goodwin's work âPoised' was originally commissioned and curated by Film and Video Umbrella with De La Warr Pavilion. Supported by the Wellcome Trust and Arts Council England.
