About

Drone Day charts the evolution of drone music from its minimalist beginnings to its sound art and dance music present over eight hours of continuous music.

The day will include a special visit from Charlemagne Palestine who will perform his seminal work for solo piano, Strumming Music. Cult long-form works by La Monte Young, Eliane Radigue and Jem Finer will also fill the concrete space. And there will be a rare acoustic rendition of Brian Eno?s Music for Airports.

The night will end with the a collaboration between the godfather of drone music, Tony Conrad, and celebrated Irish experimentalist Jennifer Walshe.
