About
Drone Day charts the evolution of drone music from its minimalist beginnings to its sound art and dance music present over eight hours of continuous music.The day will include a special visit from Charlemagne Palestine who will perform his seminal work for solo piano, Strumming Music. Cult long-form works by La Monte Young, Eliane Radigue and Jem Finer will also fill the concrete space. And there will be a rare acoustic rendition of Brian Eno?s Music for Airports.
The night will end with the a collaboration between the godfather of drone music, Tony Conrad, and celebrated Irish experimentalist Jennifer Walshe.
