Dr Jennifer Greitschus will discuss the Drivers of Change programme, a concept developed by the Foresight, Innovation and Incubation team at the design and engineering consultancy Ove Arup and Partners. Drivers of Change indicates key issues that will play a role in our future ' climate change, ageing population, energy use, water resources and connected communities, to name but a few. Having launched Drivers of Change at the Tokyo Designers' Week, Greitschus will present Japan's relationship to the ongoing struggle against environmental problems.

Ove Arup and Partners is a global design and business consulting firm. Amongst many other projects, Arup is well known for collaborating with contemporary artists and art institutions. Arup collaborated with Norman Foster on the construction of the Millennium Bridge, they engineered the Sidney Opera House and Tate Modern. Arup was also involved in a number of major artists' projects, such as Anish Kapoor's Marsyas in the Tate Modern Turbine Hall and Anthony Gormley's recent installation Space Station. Every year Deputy Chairman Cecil Balmond collaborates with the most renowned architects on the Serpentine Pavillion programme.

Dr Jennifer Greitschus is part of the Foresight and Innovation team at the design and engineering consultancy Ove Arup and Partners. Her recent projects have included editing the ongoing Drivers of Change publications programme. In October 2006 she was joint winner of the competition to design the interior of a shipping container for Tokyo Designers' Week, sponsored by Icon Magazine.
