Curators and experts look closely at the photographic series of Bey and Weems, as well as their collaborations with community partners.

About

What forms can dialogue take in a time when it often feels difficult to have complicated conversations? In looking closely at the photographic series of Dawoud Bey and Carrie Mae Weems, as well as their varied means of collaborating with community partners, Ron Platt, curator of the exhibition Dawoud Bey & Carrie Mae Weems: In Dialogue, and Kinshasha Holman Conwill, deputy director emerita at the National Museum for African American History and Culture, converse with Getty curator Mazie Harris about how the work and methods of Bey and Weems address the challenges and potential of communication in our politically fraught moment.
