Exciting news - MAGAN Gallery re-opens with an exhibition of CONTEMPORARY ART.
The exhibition contains abstractions modern expressionism, sculpture, paintings, installation and modern art jewellery.
About
The owners of the gallery Andrzej Pacak and Gosia Oldakowski-Pacak, have
designed and rebuilt it themselves.
- Andrzej Pacak - Jewellery designer and creator. After moving to London from Poland in 1991 he started to exibit in UK and internationally. Member of Goldsmithing Artist Association and APA - Association of Polish Artists in GB. Co-owner of Magan Gallery. He works with gold, silver, diamonds and semi pressure stones but his favourite stone is an amber. He is a successful, modern artistic jewellerer and sculpture designer, whose output revolutionised jewellery design by embodying sculptural elements between the stones and metal in each of his pieces
- Manka Dowling - MA in Painting and Graphics from Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts ASP. Studied under Prof. Jan Cybis. in 1970 she moved to London. Her first exhibition was in Woodstock Gallery. Her paintings are full of humour and irony, as she tries to synthesise what she feels and sees. www.mankadowling.com
- Slawomir Blatton - Graduate of Academy of Fine Arts ASP Warsaw, MA 1969 in painting and graphics. After receiving the Ministry of Culture scholarship in 1970, he came to London where he continued his artistic career. He exhibited extensively in London and abroad. Member of The London Group, APA the Association of Polish Artists in GB. He taught etching at The Working Men’s College in London and was awarded Duke of York Medal for services to Adault Education.
- Joanna Ciechanowska - Graduate of ASP Academy of Fine Arts Warsaw, MA painting and graphics 1976, then part-time at RCA and St Martins. Exibited at Royal Academy, Whitechapel Gallery, NOA at Somerset Gallery, Summerhall Gallery Edinburgh, Orlean’s House. - Moich Abrahams - St Martins / Byam Shaw 70 -74; Goldsmiths - MA 80 - 82 Award-winning artist who has been selected for numerous exhibitions in London, including the ICA, Hayward Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery, Royal College of Art, Deutsche Bank, Menier Gallery, The Mall Gal- leries, Bankside Gallery. - Danuta Sołowiej - Polish sculptor living and working in London since 1988. ASP Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw 1987, Royal College of Art Contemporary - Art Medal Course, later a lecturer on medalic art and sand casting. Exhibited at British Museum, V&A, Muse "Inspiration comes from looking at organic and inorganic forms, balancing familiar against unknown, juxstaposing forms, trying to capture fleeting moment, while watching borderlines."
- Kashka Vranken - Kashka Vranken's photographs challenge the way we experience the minutiae of the world around us. From the things that stare us right in the face and then become something different once we are immersed in them, to the abundance of the striking graphic froms that nature presents us with on a daily basis Trained as a graphic designer, progressing to digital, she stayed true to her graphic back ground observing materials as common as ice or algae and letting us engage with them in a
whole new way. - Martin Thomas Taylor - graduated in 1980 fromGrays School of Art Aberdeen, moved to London in 1984. Co-owner of a digital print company in the City of London. His main interest in his art is the use of colour
and texture. He works with acrylic on canvas. "I work spontaneously. Painting is creative and rewarding process for me. Inspiration for my work can be drawn from what I saw recently, something I watched, the music I play, current affairs, situations I recall."
