A public sound installation to be installed in four BT phone boxes across central London. October 13th-23rd 2017
About
Londoners are invited to take a moment out of their daily commute, routine or journey and immerse themselves in a narrated collection of dreams by artist Emma Alonze with soundtrack by Andy Becker. The work will be installed in phone boxes at various locations across London and will explore the ever narrowing gap between private thoughts and the public realm.
The work for 'Dream Talk' started in early 2017. Emma and Andy have been friends for over 18 years and decided to collaborate on a project that would bring awareness on mindfulness to London's busy streets.
'Dream Talk' is a collection of Emma's dreams over the past 3 years set to a soundtrack by Andy.
BT have granted permission to use four phone boxes across the city and the artists will be installing audio devices that participants can plug their own headphones into and immerse themselves in 'Dream Talk'.
The work will run from 13th - 23rd October and be at the following locations:
- Phone box outside 71-73 Stoke Newington High Street
- Phone box on corner of Bellenden Road and Choumert Road Peckham
- Phone box on junction of Portobello Road and Westbourne Grove
- Phone box on Dean Street junction with Bourchier Street, Soho
