Debut solo exhibition by Birmingham based artist Rose Jennings
Roots Gallery presents âDrawn Out' the debut solo exhibition by Birmingham based artist Rose Jennings, which sees sculpture and installation fill the gallery for the first time.
âDrawn Out' brings an exploration of mark, surface and texture through a series of dynamic sculptural installations and drawings to Roots Gallery this September.
Emanating from the process of mark making, Jennings' work aims to engage with postmodern ideas of the ânon-fixed' to blur the boundaries between one, two and three-dimensional mediums. This exhibition further considers the combination of drawing and sculpture, which has been the foundation of her practice.
The artist will undertake a ten day residency at Roots prior to the exhibition where she can fully engage with and respond to the architectural space and produce site-specific installations, pushing the boundaries of her own practice and the use of the gallery space.
âDrawn Out' will open with a private view on Friday 21st September from 6pm 9pm.
The exhibition will then run from 21.9.12 12.10.12. Opening times vary; please see the website for more details.
