About
Ben Hunter is pleased to present Drawings & Works on Paper, an exhibition of British artists from the mid 19th Century to the present day. Beginning with Samuel Palmer’s The Windmill (1851), an example of the artist’s mature depictions of the English countryside, and concluding with Lubaina Himid’s Near Neighbours, 1998, made during her residency at Tate St. Ives.
The exhibition also includes Lucian Freud’s charcoal studies for Naked Man with Rat (c.1977-78), part of the collection of The Art Gallery of Western Australia. Works by Frank Auerbach, Gerald Leslie Brockhurst, Bob Law, Richard Long, Marlow Moss and Alfred Wallis are also included, juxtaposing a range of styles, techniques and approaches to image making.
