Drawing the human head is endlessly fascinating and infinitely varied. What makes one person different from another?

About

Every Monday, 10 sessions, £385
From 25 September 2017 to 27 November 2017, 10am – 5pm

Tutors: Ian Rowlands, Cherry Pickles and Clara Drummond

Drawing the human head is endlessly fascinating and infinitely varied. What makes one person different from another? Artists have explored the particular and the universal through portraiture for hundreds of years and have continuously found new ways to portray the human head. On this course we will look at the practise of drawing the head from many different angles and approaches and will take inspiration from a wide range of artists from Cézanne, Picasso and Soutine, to David Hockney, Maggi Hambling, Marlene Dumas and Frank Auerbach.
