This three-day course is structured to take students from the initial stages of looking at the head and making drawings to a finished portrait in oils.
We start with drawings which will deal with proportion and form, then look at compositional ideas and ways of structuring the head to help capture a likeness. Palette colours suitable for portrait painting and basic colour mixing including looking at warm and cool tones will be discussed. At each stage students will be guided by one-to-one tuition and demos and will be encouraged to develop their own personal response to the subject.
All materials provided except canvas.
Suitable for all levels.
