'Drawing on Architecture' soft book launch 3 May 5-8pm
Throughout its forty year history, the Society of Architectural Illustration has had within its membership and council some of the worlds leading and respected topographical and perspective artists. Although the worlds oldest organisation of its kind, the society has continued to evolve and embrace the new. Today it stands as a testament to the true illustrator that cannot be separated from the soul in their work.
Collating this shared love of architectural illustration for the first time, the society has published 'Drawing on Architecture', a book that not only reinforces its impressive history and influence but also brings together a remarkable collection of work from a selection of the Societys members. With insightful contributions from Lord Norman Foster and Ben Johnson, Drawing on Architecture is set to become staple reading for enthusiasts from many fields.
Sharing the Society's passion and commitment, Anise Gallery is working in collaboration to put on an exhibition of work from the book. Technology, skills and styles spanning 2D illustration, 3D physical modelmaking and photography will be on display. As the book comes to life on the gallery
walls, visitors will have the chance to fully engage with these magnificent art works whilst absorbing the multitude of talent that has given the Society of Architectural Illustration its prestigious place in history.
