Charles Williams will be running a drawing workshop at the Sidney Cooper Gallery in Canterbury from the 12th-15th of July.
About
A series of increasingly challenging and sometimes downright impossible exercises designed to explore ideas about drawing, painting, 2D and even 3D design.
We will be looking at meaning and narrative, mark making, ideas about colour, ideas about form, space, time and what makes Art Art. All in one week. You will be exhausted! Open to all abilities, particularly useful as a refresher course or to kick start your studio practice. Students on previous courses have got on to enrol on degrees, set up studios and changed the course of their work.
The course is run by Charles Williams. Charles is Senior Lecturer in Painting on the Fine & Applied Art course at CCCU and has a research interest in ideas about drawing, both traditional and experimental. He is a visual artist and author of two books ‘Basic Drawing’ and 'Basic Watercolour' (both Robert Hale pub.).
