A Drawing Dialogue at Distance. Based on the concept that the location of the artist is important to what they are creating and that two artists can have a dialogue through visual elements rather than words and conversations.
About
What? 6XA2 sheets ( must be on paper) of an unfinished drawing/painting/collage. Make them personal and relevant in one way or another to your location. Use your own style, your passions, what happens to you and what you are interested in.
When? Register your interest by 30 March 2016 by contacting Gabriela Boiangiu at gabi_art@hotmail.com.
Once you have been paired with another artist, you have two months to do your 6 unfinished drawings and send them in the post to your partner. When you receive your partner's drawings you have two more months to interact with the drawings received and finish them.
All drawings will be sent to Gabriela Boiangiu by post before July 2016. (Ideally) Address TBC.
Exhibition? The aim would be to organise an exhibition where these drawings can be displayed to an open audience. We can only aim high and dream of a reunion of the artsists who can perhaps come to this exhibition and meet their partners for a week residency. There discussions, exchanges of opinions and further collaborative work can be an incipient nest for further developments to artists' work who consider drawing as an integral part of their career. Commitment? Since this is a collaborative project, full serious commitment is required. Sending the necessary work at the right time and keeping in touch with both the organiser and the partner artist is very important. Please only register your interest if you can fully commit.
Costs? At this present moment, there is no funding for this project. I estimate that this project (in the first stage), will require an investment of estimated £20/25Euros. The artists who register their interest should be able to buy their own paper and materials and the ability to send their drawings in the post in a hard board tube.
