Join artist Millie Rose Dobree for a drawing workshop that embraces copying and remixing image and text.
About
We all learn to speak, walk, dance, sing and draw through copying. Rejecting the idea that copying is unoriginal, we will be making drawings using found text, objects, shapes, stencils, and each other. Millie will begin with some exercises in compiling text from newspapers, flyers, and the internet. Taking inspiration from how collage assembles the everyday to say something new, we will then swap texts to create images in response. The collective narratives we create could be turned into a zine that you can take home.
Tues, 12 March, 6.30-8.30pm
Materials are included
£10. Note: STUDENT/UNWAGED discount of 33%

Evening workshop format: Our series of Evening workshops will focus on extending drawing through low-tech, low cost, DIY techniques. The creatives leading each workshop are young and emerging, yet each is working in a strong and accomplished way with their approach and materials. Curated by Issey Kang.
BIO
Millie is a visual artist born in London. She moved to Amsterdam to study Fine Art at the Rietveld Academie. While on exchange at The Cooper Union in New York, the Experimental Printmaking class illuminated her interest in ‘re-marking’, sampling and remixing. She is currently exploring the limits of this expanded printmaking practice on the MFA Fine Art at Goldsmiths. Millie has curated exhibitions during the pandemic in unused office spaces - @bestwishes.gallery
