About

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

The day-long workshop will combine quick, playful drawing exercises in the morning session with an extended collaborative project in the afternoon. We will use everyday, domestic objects and materials as inspiration, including items that you bring with you into the studio from home or from the street. Alastair will guide us to work with both abstract and figurative mark-making using a diverse range of drawing media and surface types. We will also incorporate graphic elements and logo forms as a kind of 2D found object. These different approaches to drawing will be combined in a larger final work that we make together as a group in the afternoon.

Materials are included.

Guest Series Format: Our Thursday evening series of workshops will focus on extending drawing through low-tech, low cost, DIY techniques. The creatives leading each workshop are young and emerging, yet each is working in a strong and accomplished way with their approach and materials.
