A panel discussion exploring key themes in Double Take exhibition.
Double Take is an exhibition that seeks to explore the multifarious ways photography and drawing have been combined and mirrored to extend both practices into new arenas in modern and contemporary practices. This panel discussion will platform themes explored in the exhibition, with contributions from Double Take artists Margarita Gluzberg, Matt Saunders and Thomas Zummer. Gluzberg contributes a new site-specific work – abstracted images of consumption and desire projected onto silvery graphite screens; Saunders participates with his new suite of photo drawings, which reinvigorate images of auratic spaces that no longer exist and Zummer presents his on-going Portraits of Robots, these non-human beings brought to life through his manipulation of graphite and eraser. The artists will make a short presentation that reflects on the conjunction of drawing and photography in their respective works; a roundtable discussion with Drawing Room directors will follow.
Drawing and Photography will be followed by the opening at Drawing Room for Double Take – a two-venue exhibition exploring the relationship between drawing and photography, taking place at Drawing Room and The Photographer’s Gallery, London.
