An exhibition of artists' video exploring legacy through participation, historic sites and events.

About

Bamboo Memories, Barby Asante; The Use Of Money, Mark Wilsher; Session, Mandy McIntosh; File Under Sacred Music, Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard; Summer Lightnings, Viktor Alimpiev and Scene for New Heritage Trilogy, David Maljkovic.

Down at the Bamboo Club is a new exhibition devised by Picture This in Bristol. The works in the exhibition all respond to ideas of legacy and use strategies including re-enactment and community participation.

The exhibition takes its name from a legendary Bristol social club, and three of the works in the exhibition are commissions which look in particular at sites and events in Bristol's past and the legacy that is created by communities today. These works ' by Barby Asante, Mandy McIntosh and Mark Wilsher ' were commissioned and produced by Picture This.

The three other video works explore further how artists respond to events and sites and look at how communities come together to devise and understand the legacy of their own, or recent past.
