A collaboration between artist Abigail Reynolds and St Keverne Band. A thirty minute performance in the meadow at Kestle Barton (which will be knee-high with wild flowers, butterflies and bees at mid-summer).
About
Following the debut last year, the Summer Solstice on 21 June will feature the return of Abigail Reynolds’ piece Double Brass, performed by the award winning St Keverne Band in the wild flower meadow at noon. Audience and band members will be listening across the landscape with a heightened awareness of locality and terrain.
The band will follow up with performances of Gareth Churcher’s compositions in the gallery and gardens. Including Troheaul, (written for Double Brass) and an experimental piece referencing Dean Quarry.
Pasties and ice cream will be available.
St Keverne Band are based only three miles from Kestle Barton. They are graded First Section nationally, and comprise three bands of different ages, with a total membership of over sixty.
