DotsToLines: Individualised, features internationally acclaimed tattoo artist and designer, Chaim Machlev (also known as DotsToLines) in a
unique creative collaboration between his human subjects, Machlev’s original
tattoo-stencil artworks and the photography of Ben Hopper and Erik Weiss.
About
Capturing the popular zeitgeist of body art as a uniquely powerful method of personal
expression, the exhibition features the tattoo art of a master practitioner, portrayed in
sumptuous original artworks and large-scale photographic and aluminium prints employing exquisite technique and production.
Displayed for the first time in the UK, following an acclaimed exhibition at the Museum
of Contemporary Art in Rome, are a series of larger-than-life metallic prints by
Machlev, and Photographer Ben Hopper, featuring Machlev’s blackwork tattoos. The
prints are accompanied by tattoo-stencil collages created by Machlev and a series of
intimate, large-scale monochrome portraits by Erik Weiss featuring Machlev’s human subjects and tattoo artworks.
