Exhibition by Henry MacHale in association with venue the Finborough Theatre

About

The multi-award winning Finborough Theatre has freed its walls for the first time for a new exhibition to be curated in conjunction with its current world premiere production ‘Miss Lilly Gets Boned or The Loss of All Elephant Elders'. The Finborough Theatre is renowned for producing bold, shrewd and exciting work from both home and abroad, this exhibition promises to compliment the theatre's excellent reputation. Henry MacHale began photographing East Africa aged 16. Living, working and teaching in Africa has enabled MacHale to capture the deep mood of the country, its environment and habitat. His photographs allow others to own something that they themselves may not have been able to capture whilst out in the bush. Henry often sits still for hours, waiting for the perfect shot, often dangerously close to the animals. MacHale makes the familiar look original and fresh as his images highlight the vastness of the plains, the unpredictability of the wild, the sheer panic of the stampede.
