About

Peninsula Arts presents DOMINION, a unique exhibition of artworks, text and sound celebrating the whale. The show — a collaboration between renowned artist Angela Cockayne and internationally acclaimed writer Philip Hoare - is part of a year-round programme of public art events hosted by the University of Plymouth. Running from 22 January to 5 March 2011 at the Peninsula Arts Gallery in Plymouth, Dominion draws inspiration from Herman Melville's 19th century classic, Moby Dick. Incorporating Cockayne's chimerical objects - part animal, part sculpture - with Hoare's text, the exhibition will provide an aesthetic sermon on the state of the whale and the world.
