Through site-specific interventions, process-oriented projects, sculpture and actions, Mario de Vegas work brings attention to human capacities and incapacities of perception.
About
His work produces situations for specific spaces, using the context to explore the value of fragility and indetermination, assuming the impossibility of control of both the actions and the results of his interventions. Thereby, leaving space to the exploration and reflection about the factors of the unknown, the uncanny, the unseen, the unheard, and thus the unpredictable.
In the context of music, his practice explores the value of instability involving a wide range of self-designed electronic devices, electromechanical systems and computer based interfaces in different combinations. His work has been exhibited in different contexts throughout Europe, Mexico, North and South America, Russia, India, South Africa, Korea and Japan.
He lives and works in berlin and Mexico City.
