Dog Kennel Blues - Poems and images from two continents
About
An exhibition of poetry and art plus a book launch will be taking place at London College of Communication from Monday 14 April until Friday the 18 April inspired by recent South African history. The exhibition of designs and prints was originally displayed at the college in October 2006. This was the first public exhibition of a group of artists and printmakers from Cape Town and the event attracted considerable attention here and in Europe. Creative writing tutors from the college have been working with pupils from Dog Kennel Hill Junior School in East Dulwich to produce poetry and pose, based around themes used by the Cape Town artists. These writings will be on display, together with work by students from LCC and Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
To tie in with the exhibition, a book based on the work called Dog Kennel Blues will be launched on Tuesday 15 April.
