DNT Closing Celebration with Paula Durinova and Giulia Valenti

The installation features a visual essay გადასვლა / Passing of Paula Durinova, accompanied by her text exploring under and over ground places in Tbilisi and the notions of public and private. Giulia Valenti reacts to Paula’s film with a loose assemblage of footage she filmed in Ukraine, visually documenting the various dimensions of work observed in public space. As part of the installation, we would like to invite you to join the discussion on how our perception of spaces (public/private/digital) formed and changed with the current experience of the global pandemic.

ABOUT

Paula Ďurinová is a documentary filmmaker, visual artist and writer living and working between Berlin and Slovakia. Post-conflict landscapes, social phenomenons, vulnerability, intimacy and mental health are the main topics of her work with a focus on people and (physical/mental) spaces that surround her.

Giulia Valenti is a visual artist, music producer and event organizer living in Berlin. Her personal work and research are gravitating around the topics of surveillance, power structures, cybernetics and the political and social landscape drawn by the man-machine interaction.

From 8.30 pm, the Do Not Touch closing celebration continues in the Club space of ACUD MACHT NEU. Paula Durinova and Giulia Valenti will engage in an audiovisual dialogue combining a journey through the dark corners of music with a visual trip through the private spaces of the wealthy desolate.

The AV conversation can host a limited number of people and follows the social distancing measures. If you wish to attend, please rsvp.
