Diverse Stories. An Exhibition of Paintings and Drawings by Pamela Lloyd-Jones
About
Remarkably, a solo exhibition by Pamela Lloyd-Jones can look like a group show, the subject matter and styles are so diverse, one dictating the other.
Pamela studied art in Australia; initially by correspondence when at school in a remote town in New South Wales, and subsequently with a scholarship to the National Art School. Her colour palette and mark-making still owe much to the Australian landscape despite her many years in the UK.
She has done postgraduate studies at Chelsea Art School, teaches regularly, and runs art workshops as well as painting holidays abroad.
Pamela’s paintings are in collections in France, Germany, Canada, the USA, and Costa Rica, as well as the UK. She has had a number of solo shows, and has exhibited in many group shows, as well as The London Art Fair and
The Works on Paper Fair.
Pamela exhibits regularly as an Associate Member of the SGFA and The United Society of Artists. She is in steady demand for portraiture commissions (particularly nude portraiture and studies of children) which she enjoys enormously, but in her paintings, she loves the freedom of a paint brush, the joy of colour, and the
obsession of an idea.
In her thoughts she wants to be a gestural painter of very large canvasses, but actually is happiest with her paintings when they have a ‘story’.
It will be great delight to see her paintings in the beautiful spaces of Linden Hall Studio Gallery.
