Distress Over Parliament refers to a little known happening by British artist John Latham which provides the centrepiece of the show.

About

This piece, which will be included as documentation in the show, was produced on Mayday 1983. In response to the UK involvement in the Falklands war and Margaret Thatcher's defence of the sinking of the Belgrano (an Argentine ship disputably outside of combat waters) John shot two maritime flares over the top of the houses of parliament. This happening intended as deliberately controversial and bring attention to the event was barely noticed.
