Daniel Roberts’ Distort Displace focuses on the idea that dreams are a snapshot into the inner working of the mind and the unconscious.
About
Using a combination of 3D motion capture, scanning technology, and video interviews of people talking about their dreams, the digital animation and prints presented in this exhibition explore how subtle fluctuations in speech and movement can indicate what lies beneath the public face.Daniel Roberts works across various disciplines, from teaching, web development to art and performance. To make artwork, he mainly works in the digital realm using 3D software and recently motion capture technology. He is interested in the work of Carl Gustav Jung, and the collective archetypes as a means to find dynamic equilibrium in the psyche.
