aking Édouard Manet’s Le Déjeuner sur l’Herbe as a starting point, the show asks artists to look at what is transgressive in their own practice, questioning whether the radicalism present in Manet's work has been truly taken forward. The show features over 80 artists, with a focus on painting and European artists.
About
Taking Éduoard Manet’s 'Le Déjeuner sur l’Herbe' as a starting point more than 80 artists have been by asked by curators Cedric Christie and Pascal Rousson to look at what is transgressive in their own practice, questioning whether the radicalism present in Manet's work has been truly taken forward.
The show will include both a salon exhibition of submitted works with a curated programme of performances, talks and picnics hosted by a series of guests in an ‘en plein air’ installation at the heart of the gallery.
Curated by Cedric Christie & Pascal Rousson, artists include Ackroyd & Harvey, Jake & Dinos Chapman, Jacques Charlier, Simon Liddiment, Robert Montgomery, Barry Reigate, Danny Rolph, John Smith, Geraldine Swayne, Jennifer Taylor, Gavin Turk, Ben Young.
