Simon Scott (12K) + Ex-Easter Island Head (Low Point) + Oval (Mille Plateaux)
Digital is Dead's closing event will be huge. 12K, Kompakt and Miasmah maestro Simon Scott will kick the night off with his incredible below sea level~ performance; delicate fenland sound recordings embedded in platinum guitar tones, heralded by Fluid Radio and The Milk Factory alike.
Liverpool sensations Ex-Easter Island Head bring their raucous, mallet guitar (fr)antics to Oxford Modern Art for a specially written new work. As âdelicate as weing needles', but brutally machinistic too. Pitchfork, The Wire and The Quietus are all fans; file under âabout to explode'.
Finally, closing three incredible days of contemporary music, Berlin's Oval (Mille Plateaux) will unfurl his joyous, multicoloured glitches less than two years after a triumphant emergence from almost a decade of silence. Playing from his utterly beguiling 70-track release O, this is an insanely rare opportunity to see one of the greatest musicians of the last century play a solo show on UK soil. Absolutely unmissable.
