this is the first in a series of regular monthly pop-up affordable art exhibitions in fitzrovia, hosted by artsnug and homeware retailer west elm.
“different time // different place” brings together three artists who’s style couldn’t be more diverse – from ink and tea drawings (carne griffiths), minimalist graphic design design prints (laura robinson) to collages (linda bernhard).
About
the first exhibition “different time // different place” brings together three artists who’s style couldn’t be more diverse – from ink and tea drawings to collages. however one thing all three artists share is the ability to see everyday objects, images and situations in a different light.
carne griffiths is internationally acclaimed for his unique style of drawing in ink, graphite and liquids such as tea, brandy and vodka. his work explores human, geometric and floral forms and is inspired by images and situations encountered in everyday life.
linda bernhard is a uk-based swiss collagist whose hand-cut paper collages draw on innumerable sources of things she’s seen, read, or heard; becoming abstract representations of her own experiences. work on display will be linda’s homage to the greatest cities of all – london.
laura robinson in her signature minimalist style transforms objects and places we all know and recognize into abstract geometric forms, instantly welcoming attention and drawing the eye to focus.
