For 35 years, German photographer Dietmar Buehrer has captured the interaction between art and exhibition visitors in magical images and created a new artistic dimension himself. The exhibition also celebrates the 70th Birthday of the ever-present artist and publisher. Working as a printer for different newspapers, he moved to Berlin in 1970 and later became director of the printing facility at Germany’s largest prison, the JVA Berlin-Tegel. As a photographer, Buehrer is an autodidact whose images have been shown in numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad. Since 1984, he is publisher and editor of brennpunkt
, the leading Berlin photo magazine in print. He received the Federal Cross of Merit in 2011 for his outstanding work at Tegel prison, including a documentary photo series.
The 360-page photo book “Pictures of an Exhibition “ is going to be released at the exhibition opening on 16th November.
