Capturing the sparkling glamour of the Hollywood Golden Age, this new exhibition pays homage to the iconic leading ladies from the era from Monroe to Hepburn, Bardot to Welch. Blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, Simon’ Claridge captures the female form in all its ethereal splendour.
About
Claridge uses his trademark diamond dust on each image to ensure the works portray the glittering aura of these Hollywood legends and the glamour and opulence of Hollywood. Diamond dust gives an alluring, luminosity to his work and its textured, sculptural finish gives depth and significance.
He may count Hollywood A-listers like Claudia Schiffer and Rod Stewart among his collectors, but behind his dazzling artworks lies the hard work and determination that propelled him to success.
Each work featured in this exhibition is a labour of love. A very time-consuming, intricate screen-printing process which has been perfected by Claridge over the last 10 years. Each work takes months to perfect.
“Warhol has always been my biggest influence until recently. I have been lucky enough to share a studio space with Sir Peter Blake recently and having the honour being around him and spending time with him has been the biggest influence on me by far I learnt more in those few precious days than I had thought my career up to that point.”
