‘Dialogues’: A Hybrid Art Project

‘Dialogues’ is based on the exploration of hybrid spaces of exchange and art interventions that blend physical and virtual realities in new configurations.

The first instance of this project in July 2022 seeks to instigate a dialogue between eight independent artists. The participating artist will get the chance to exchange artworks and experience them in their own personal space (their home or studio) for a period of 10 days. During that period the artworks will be publicly available on the project’s virtual platform through relevant documentation and live streaming allowing to observe the work in space. Alongside the virtual exhibition, the project involves a series of one-to-one online encounters between the artists to enable further interactions around the shared ecology of the project’s platform.

The project seeks to address the relationship between art practices and audiences in networked spaces. The interest here lies with notions of interaction and mediation that transcend physical/virtual dichotomies and private/public conceptions of space.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a publication reflecting on the outcomes of this first instance of the project.
