A site-specific installation by Devis Venturelli reflecting on anarchitecture and self made construction, combining inert, residual objects with abstract, metaphysical shapes.
About
MARS presents “Objets d’Amour”, a solo show by Devis Venturelli, curated by Fabio Carnaghi.
The exhibition opens “My Room On Mars”, a series of special projects that will present new points of view of MARS as anomalous white cube.
Based on his artistic practice, Devis Venturelli reflects on anarchitecture, on self made construction, inspired now by a precarious approach, now by an immaginative-free expression, without a severe project.
Through a site-specific installation, the show articulates a construct, a syntax, that puts into play the tailored assembly – as in a film editing according to distinctive Venturelli’s practice – and the survival procedure.
The art installation puts into contact the objects, inert and residual, with shapes abstract, metaphysical, restructured. The aesthetic contact is “love object”, regenerated through a second skin - literally a textile or a screen – to imagine the vision of an architexture.
Devis Venturelli (b. Faenza, 1974) lives and works in Milan.
After the degree in Architecture and PhD at ENSAP (Bordeaux), he has exhibited in international institutions, including Kunsthalle, Wien; la Biennale di Venezia; Kulturhuset Museum, Stockholm; Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Amsterdam; MACRO, Roma; Stadtgalerie, Kiel; Centre d’Art Santa Monica, Barcelona; Fondazione Merz, Torino.
