Marius Bosc is a Bay Area painter and a third generation San Franciscan whose family emigrated from Southwestern France before the 1906 Earthquake, He says that his paintings have been influenced by the light, colors and air of Northern California and his French heritage through his French grandmothers. 

Since the 1970’a Marius Bosc has been painting flowers, landscapes and figures, which reflect the colors of Northern California. Marius Bosc states that his paintings are all about expressing his sensations: sight, light, color, space and movement. It is in this context that his figures and flowers are to be seen and experienced. He emphasizes is work is about the human experience.

Marius Bosc paintings have been exhibited over the years in many notable galleries, including Gumps Gallery (the original Gumps), Ira Wolk Gallery in Saint Helena, Dolby Chadwick Gallery, San Francisco. His paintings have been acquired by many private collectors including: the late Environmentalist, Dough Thompkins, the late Stanley Eichelbaum, Drama Critic of the San Francisco Chronicle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mondavi, of Robert Mondavi Vineyards, Kei Yamagami, Designer, San Francisco. Marius Bosc has also been selected for numerous national juried competitions. His works have appeared in Art Forum, the DeYoung Museum, the New York Times and the New York Herald Tribune.

His paintings can currently be seen at Desta Gallery, San Anselmo where his exhibit, “Eclat de Couleur ” which includes both his flower and figurative paintings. The exhibit runs from November 14, 2017 through January 18, 2018.
